Techniques, Technology, and Trajectory

Learn more about how we’re different and what to expect when you begin care at Mutter Chiropractic by clicking the links below.

  • Network Spinal is a very gentle chiropractic discipline that focuses on how energy and tension are organized in the neurospinal system. Nervous system tension patterns are assessed and light touch “contacts” are made to help release/unwind these patterns. As care progresses, the focus changes to help the nervous system reorganize the stress and tension held in the body to become more efficient and more adaptive. NS has been and continues to be researched in the chiropractic, complementary and alternative health, bio-psycho-social, and engineering literature.

  • Neurotonal chiropractic reflects a blending of adjusting tools and techniques based on who and how the practice member enters care. Taking an in depth health history and using leading edge technology to measure autonomic nervous system function helps determine which kinds of chiropractic adjustments will promote more change more quickly. Network Spinal is the foundation for how we offer neurotonal care. In addition, we integrate cranial work and extremity adjusting, as well as instrument and manual adjustments when indicated.

  • We employ CLA Synapse technology to objectively measure nervous system function and as a way to track progress over the course of chiropractic care. Handheld instruments will capture temperature and electrical balance along the surface of the spine. The spinal thermography and surface EMG scans are non-invasive, do not involve needles or radiation, and take less than 5 minutes to perform. We also look at heart rate variability (HRV), which requires only that you sit quietly for 3 minutes with your hand on a trackpad.

  • Scan data, along with your health history, intention for initiating chiropractic care, and how you describe and rate your quality of life all get factored into a Report of Findings that your chiropractor will go over with you after your First Visit.  All of this helps us create a personalized care plan that will include a recommended frequency of visits. Adjustments offered during follow-up community chiropractic visits gently unwind and align identified areas of stress and as care progresses, we will look for improvements in the balance and regulation of the nervous system.

We offer a Care Plan because while a single session can be helpful, sessions in series help the nervous system not only release pain, tension, and stress, but help it become more adaptive and resilient. We want that for you, because life is more enjoyable with more access to calm, clarity, and mobility.

For most patients initiating care, it is recommended that the scans and HRV are re-evaluated after 12 follow-up visits (usually 6-8 weeks after initiating care). The re-evaluation appointment is a 30-minute private office visit that also allows you to check in 1:1 about your chiropractic care thus far, and allows your chiropractor to go into more focus and depth with refining your adjustments.
